Principal Robotics Engineer

The Principal Robotics Engineer is a key role at Speedcargo, s/he will report to the leadership team and will be responsible for the development and delivery of all robotics software modules. In addition, the person will be responsible in managing(with support from the leadership team)all robotics projects globally.

This role requires the ability to manage both technology and project delivery teams to ensure that customer projects are solutioned, scoped and delivered in time and on budget. The key responsibilities of this role is described below

  • Design and develop scalable software architectures for intelligent robotics solution for the logistics space and beyond
  • Develop a product strategy and roadmap based on market and business input from the commercial team
  • Ensure the technology stack is up to date in terms of performance, security, and scalability
  • Recruit, develop and lead a highly competent and efficient intelligent robotics software development team
  • Ensure the technology stack is up to date in terms of performance, security, and scalability
  • Recruit, develop and lead a highly competent and efficient intelligent robotics software development team
  • Engage with customers at pre-solutioning, solutioning, deployment and support stages (entire lifecycle)
  • Manage project budgets and plan resource recruitment and training
  • Will be involved in our collaboration with Microsoft on next generation cloud architectures for robotics applications

  •  5+ years of experience in industrial robotics software development (C/C++, background in computer science preferred)
  • Knowledge of robot motion planning algorithms
  • Good knowledge of linear algebra and robotics related mathematical concepts (kinematics, dynamics, force control, optimisation, etc,)
  • Knowledge of interfacing with Robot Controllers and PLC (field bus, TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of sensors and safety systems used in Industrial Robotics Applications
  • Experience with software engineering and design patterns
  • Knowledge of robotics middleware such as ROS
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (preferablyMicrosoft Azure)
  • Ability to work independently with a goal centric approach
  • Ability to travel to customer deployment locations when the need arises
